A quick note: alternatives to ActBlue for donating
Hey y’all,
As much or more than anyone I’m inundated with emails, passwords, solicitations, targeted ads, all that stuff.
I’m aware that many people (including myself up until a couple of years ago once I experienced ActBlue and it was OK for me) aren’t exactly excited to put any political affiliation out in the ether. I can’t blame anyone for that, and after some research I now have created a special Venmo account that is directly linked to my dedicated campaign bank account for donations. So if you would like to Venmo a donation (I’ll still need you to provide some info on your profession and location for the campaign finance report so if I don’t already know I’ll message you back before I accept the contribution) you can now do so. the address is @beebefortexas . Also, you can always mail a check to Beebe for Texas at PO Box 1548 Marfa TX 79843.
Just a word about campaign finance in County elections: I file campaign finance reports during the appropriate prescribed filing periods with the office of the Presidio County Clerk, where they are public documents. Local elections data does not make it on the the Texas Secretary of State website; it is retained locally on paper in the County Courthouse. The Big Bend Sentinel, in the past and probably present/future, does sometimes report on donors and amount donated. All donations and expenditures are reported on these forms. If you have additional questions or concerns please email me a beebefortexas@gmail.com. Thank you!
